Macy's Thanksgiving parade 2014

New addition: The Paddington Bear balloon cruises over Central Park West during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The balloon, which is based on the character from the upcoming movie, is one of six new balloons to take to the streets this year
Hold tight: A balloon of SpongeBob Squarepants, which has 800 tie lines, grins as he makes his way along the route
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas: Snow started to fall as Elf on the Shelf and SpongeBob Squarepants took the route
Celebration: Members of the marching band for the Bahama All Stars, a Youth Development Organization, are pictured in the parade
Excitement: Performers prepare for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York ahead of the start on Thursday morning
A sight to behold: A stretch of 6th Avenue shows Paddington Bear as Harold the Fireman and the Red Power Ranger follow
Papa Smurf - whose cane measures 23 feet high - appears at the parade, a year after the hit movie, The Smurfs 2
Crowd pleaser: A 50ft-long balloon of Hello Kitty, who celebrates her 40th anniversary this year, flies above Sixth Avenue
Keeping watch: Elf on the Shelf - who tells Santa who has been naughty and who has been nice - is the parade's tallest balloon
A balloon from cartoon movie 'How To Train Your Dragon' is followed by one of the new floats, Eruptor from video game Skylanders
Joining the ranks: A smiling Pillsbury Doughboy balloon - which is 63 times bigger than the 'real' version - joined the parade this year
